Added on Wednesday, June 7th, 2006In an effort to combat ever increasing gas prices and promote the advantages of public transportation, the American Public Transportation Association (ATPA) designates June 8th, 2006 as “National Dump the Pump Day“. Unfortunately, it looks like the MTA is unaware of this, or not interested in promoting it, as I can’t find any mention of it on their website. The LA Department of Transit promotes it on their website, but doesn’t seem to be doing anything beyond that, like the ATPA suggests. Either way, you should do your part and get the word out to others to “dump the pump” and ride public transit tomorrow.
