Cars vs. Bikes, My Original Inspiration

Contributed by Fred Camino on April 25th, 2008 at 1:47 am

In a random California suburb a group of boys evade the Feds using pedal power. If there was ever a more powerful and inspirational ode to the power and freedom of bicycles, I don’t know about it.

  1. Ooh another night owl! I kinda guessed this would be ET before I even started it playing. The John Williams score was my favorite music ever when I was 14 years old.

  2. Yeah! I just came across this demo reel and was blown away by the music choice. It got me all nostalgic and I went on an E.T. YouTube rager. This is seriously one of my favorite scenes in movie history. And it honestly inspired me when I was a kid to want to be a bad ass on a bike, and when I started riding bikes again when I moved to L.A. as a growsed up, I immediately recalled and felt the E.T. childlike freedom that a bike gives you. Love it. So much. Makes me want to go ride right now, but I gotta sleep.

  4. Oh yeah! Go see Speed Racer, brought to you by E-surance. That’s another good thing about bikes: you don’t have to get insurance, register or any of that crap, just put your ass on the seat and pedal!
