Up Next: Talk to Metro at Noon

Metro is holding its monthly “live” internet “chat” today at noon. Metro Board Chair Pam O’Connor will be hosting the chat as usual, answering “your” questions about Metro. This month’s topic is: FUNDING.
- Can we afford traffic relief?
- Paying the bill for transit.
- Do we prefer a half sales tax hike?
- Toll roads?
- Public/private partnerships?
- Parking fees?
Although the chat is “live” your questions should be submitted in advanced before the discussion if you want them answered. That means you have a few more minutes to throw Pam a hard-hitting question. Then head over the Metro Interactive at noon to join the “chat”.
Update 12:01pm: Ummm here’s the direct link to the live chat.
Update 12:13pm: Join the chat about the chat, here in the MetroRiderLA forum. Trust me, it’s a lot more interesting (and interactive) than the official chat.

Did she get any non-transit questions?
Was there any discussion of the falling ridership?
My favorite is the last one:
It’s the question that acts like a statement! I find it hard to believe someone actually submitted that.
There was 15 questions in an hour which means she answered a question every 4 minutes. Quite a lively “live” chat. I wonder if that’s how it would work if we were to chat with her in person…
MetroRider: Hi Pam! How are you?
Pam: …
MetroRider: Pam?
Pam: …
MetroRider looks at his watch.
Pam: …
MetroRider waves his hands in front of Pam.
Pam: …
Four minutes have passed.
Pam: Oh great question MetroRider! I recommend you check out our long range plan on Metro.net!
LOL!!!!
The gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn’t anywhere in sight.
” so you’d rather see this forum be empty than post any questions that are a bit contented or controversial? is that it?”
Haha, hilarious. Talk about a boring chat.
[...] hour long show proved to be a much better medium for Pam than her monthly home on the Metro Interactive online chat, which is pretty much universally panned for its inability to be either interactive or [...]
