Aside from the obvious, at least Metro, which had won the “America’s Best” honor from APTA, can say they had a better season than the Dodgers…
yes and like the dodgers, they promote well but tend to fall off when it really matters.
No train service to Dodger Stadium.
Is that the irony you were hoping to explore?
I actually looked on the map: they could tunnel over from the Gold Line just north of Chinatown. It would be a tunnel of less than a mile, maybe 4000 feet. Then a big elevator from the station platform to the top of the hill.
Come on, Mr. O’Malley, pony up! You want a train to your stadium, just like in Boston, don’t you?
Mr. O’Malley?
How many owners ago was he?
Scott got his Irishmen mixed up…
The “Go Metro” call of the day… to beat the now-not-so-high gas prices with a Day Pass that costs a bit more than a couple of gallons of gas, instead of under a gallon.
Season’s over for the Dodgers. I guess they didn’t get enough support from the fans who are stressed from the parking situation or are arriving late and leaving early.
Whatever the guy’s name is…Okay, McCourt. I just looked it up. Can you tell I’m not a sports fan?
I’d settle for some improved signage and a sidewalk from Chinatown. Or a frequent shuttle bus from Union Station with reserved lanes in and out of the stadium.
Until then I’ll stick with the Angels. There’s an Amtrak/Metrolink Station and 24 hr. bus service (50-Katella) on site. They’ve been playing better baseball the last few years too !
