Metro takes another step towards modernity at its rail stations. According to the new Transit Passenger Information Displays at Union Station, select Ticket Vending Machines (TVM) at Union Station and 7th Street Metro Center now accept credit and debit cards for payment. At Union Station, on the Vignes Street side, TVM’s #71 and #72 accept cards and at 7th Metro Center, on the Figueroa Street side, TVM’s #103 and #104 are accepting cards.

I tested out TVM #104 at the 7th Street Metro Center and successfully bought a one way ticket using my debit card. Now if only they would start selling passes this way!

Pix after the jump…

Now you have the option to use your credit or debit card.

My receipt, proof that it works!

The shiny new TPIS displays from TransitVUE broke this story.
