Curbed LA revealed what’s going up — way up — at Sunset Boulevard and Gower Street. The Columbia Square project, now occupied by KCBS-Channel 2 and KCAL-Channel 9, is going to have according to Curbed LA’s EXCLUSIVE (caps are Curbed’s) report:

… 400 dwelling units, 125 hotel rooms, 380,000 sf of office space, 12,000 sf of ground floor retail and 22,500 sf of restaurant space, the project will also incorporate about 105,000 sf of the original CBS Studios.

The project is a short walk from the Metro Red Line (and for obligatory bus line pedantry: Metro Rapid lines 710 and 780, Local lines 2/302, 163, 180/181, 210, 212/312 and 217; and LADOT DASH Hollywood and Holly Trolley).

There are One Response to “Sunset-Gower development”:

  1. This is about 0.4 miles from the Hollywood/Vine station, which is just under the half-mile radius I think is acceptable for transit oriented development. 0.4 miles is less than a 10 minute walk… hopefully Angelenos will be able to handle that much time on their two feet. What’s also great is that this development is just 3 blocks away from the Sunset+Vine development which has a Borders, Bed Bath and Beyond, a number of small stores… as well as the Arclight Movie Theater down the street and Amoeba Music. Only thing holding this development back from being a truly car-free T.O.D is the lack of a grocery store within a .5 mile radius. However, a great Ralphs is one Red Line stop east at Hollywood/Western.
