First of all, to all of you who responded to the MetroRiderLA Roll Call: THANKS!
We obviously have a wide variety of MetroRiders and I’m happy to see you all embracing the Public Transit Lifestyle. Make sure to tell your friends about the lifestyle and about MetroRiderLA. The more people we get in on this the better.
You may have noticed I’ve been posting pretty lightly (okay, not at all) this past week. I’ve been busy with work and just haven’t had the time or energy. Luckily Wad has pulled up that slack and made a post nearly every day this week, so thanks for that Wad. On the same note, I also got a number of emails this week from readers with some inside information, news, and other such insights… MetroRider articles essentially. And I thank you guys for that!
But here’s the thing, since I’ve been so busy, I didn’t have time to post those articles until today! And here’s the other thing, faithful readers, anyone can write for MetroRideLA! Whether you realize it or not, this blog is and always has been completely open. I’ve never personally met many of our best and most faithful authors. So if you have something to say, report, or share… the opportunity is there!
In fact, I’ve created a detailed Posting Guide (you’ll find it at the very top menu of the blog) to help you in case you’ve always wanted to write an article but wasn’t sure exactly how to go about it. If you just want to jump right into things, all you have to do is register.
To make things a little fun, and to encourage readers to make the conversion to contributors, I’m setting up a little contest… the MetroWriterLA Contest. It’s quite simple. If you’re one of the first 5 new contributors to write an article for MetroRiderLA in the month of March, you’ll get a little Metro swag bag with some goodies from the MetroStore and what not. This only open to people who have never written for MetroRiderLA before. Sorry current authors! So if you’re interested in playing, check out the Posting Guide, register, and then write! Tell us about a Metro adventure you had, or some new juicy Metro news bit you’ve come across, or tell the world your opinion on any given Metro issue. The deadline is March 31st, so get writing!
