Purple, Silver, Bronze and …

… parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme?
Metro’s new rapid transit map has made the following changes: the biggest one being the formal rechristening of the Koreatown branch of the subway to the Purple Line; denoting busway services with dashed lines; and the addition of Los Angeles’ two older busways: El Monte and Harbor Transitway.
The Harbor Transitway actually ends at Adams Boulevard, and buses become locals into downtown Los Angeles (or West Hollywood in the case of Line 550).

and of course, like everhthing on the MTA’s site, its up in craptacular PDF format
I do wish the “formal rechristening” was a bit more… formal. I find it strange, but not surprising, that the map has been updated, but nothing else. On the website, it’s still considered the “Rail Map” although of course, with bus lines and transitways on it, “Rapid Transit Map” as Wad described is much more fitting. And also, on the very page with the updated map, the rail lines listed are still the Blue, Green, Red, and Gold. Where’s the purple line I see on that map? And of course in the actual stations nothing has been updated.
One thing I don’t particular don’t like about the updated maps is the exclusion of Metro Rapid connections.

Rapids are just red buses. They don’t do anything different than Metro’s three dozen other limited-stop buses. Might as well include those.
Sorry, should have been two dozen.
Matt, be fair. It’s up in craptacular flash as well.
Fred, I contacted the mta blog (experiencela.com) and asked them if they were going to update their site. No word yet….
My mistake–the flash map is still without purple.
I have seen the new maps appearing in the stations now, but they have not yet changed them aboard the trains.
They’re also going to have to change that long strip (sticker) showing “only” the two Red Line branches, which is pasted above the standee pole in all the subway cars.
