MetroRiderLA New Years Resolutions

- Daily Posts: That’s right. I’m going to try and make sure there’s something new up here to read every weekday. I can’t promise hard hitting journalism, but maybe, just maybe something to talk about.
- Advertising: Don’t cry “sell out” just yet! I’m looking into creating a sort of “MetroMall” where business that support/relate to public transit could connect with my readers via advertisements, affiliate programs, or whatever. So don’t think you’re just going to see another ugly GoogleAdsense banner advertising weight loss scams on the page. Plus, the ads will have to meet MetroRiderLA’s vigorous aesthetic standards.
- More MetroMovies: I’ve dug out the old DV camera and I’m going to be using it this year to capture the public transit lifestyle here in Los Angeles. Mayor Villaraigosa was just the beginning of the “Made by MetroRiderLA” MetroMovies.More resolutions after the jump…
- Yelp!: Look for many more Yelp reviews in 2007. Wad has already contributed a massive amount to our Yelp map, there’s over 40 reviews of transit accessible eateries, shopping venues, local amenities, and more… proving that you can get to the place you want to go in LA with public transit. In 2007 look for reviews of train stations, bus stops, and all the fun to be had around them.
- Rider Profiles: In an effort to put a human face on Los Angeles public transit, I plan on introducing Rider Profiles - quick and informal interviews with MetroRiders from around the city.
- More Fun Stuff: Maybe some contests? Chances to win some Metro related prizes? Maybe even a get-together or two?
- Forum: This is still up in the air, but part of me wants to introduce a clean, usable, MetroRider forum were Los Angeles MetroRider’s can meet online and discuss the issues brought up on the blog, or anything else pertaining to the public transit lifestyle. A chance for the readers of the blog to speak their minds more freely. Anyone else keen on this idea?
Well that’s it for now. Thank you all for reading MetroRiderLA, and have a safe and prosperous 2007! Remember, free rides on the Metro tonight, plus the trains run all night! Go Metro for New Years!
