MetroMole Returns

The MetroMole is back with another one of his entertainingly scathing commentaries on the LACMTA. In his most recent article, the Mole:
- Interviews a transit professional… and learns stuff!
- Disses the plans for street cars in Downtown LA
- Gets a good laugh out of Metro being called “America’s Best”
- Meets his transit “Dulcinea”… maybe love on a bus is possible.
So go ahead and check out the writing of one of my favorite LA transit bloggers.

Mole is incorrect about the downtown streetcar plan being a Metro project.
The streetcar is an initiative by private citizens and businesses, not a plan by Metro. It will be another entity outside of any agencies, unless it is absorbed.
Metro is the transportation funding bursar for Los Angeles County, and the streetcar project must compete with other transit and road projects in order to get study, capital and operational funding. Metro then applies for funds from state and federal sources and distributes them to their respective applicants.
