Getting my ride off

Contributed by JustMyNipples on August 21st, 2006 at 6:02 pm

I finally started taking transit to work, only a month after I promised. I’ve got a real hook-up at work. I paid only $41 for an EZ pass (normally $58) plus I get a credit of $2.75 everyday I take the bus to work. It takes about an hour riding the 30 to pico/rimpau then the santa monica 7 to Pico/Motor. I’m usually no condition to read in the morning so I take in a little Transit TV, which is where I saw something very very exciting:
Transit Date
It was a short commercial for a dating service the MTA is setting up, but is not yet active. I did a limited scour of the MTA site and found nothing, so part of this post is a call for information.
The other reason is to publically state I will sign up and test the Transit Date service for the benifit of readers and, well, myself.
I love tamales.

Please post any info

  1. sadly i’ve not found any solid info on it either. the transit tv website is pretty terrible and doesn’t seem to work on some browsers… though i noticed it was based in orlando which is interesting considering the lack of public transit that exists there. i’ve been trying to get a good piece together on the “stars” of transit tv, but it hasn’t been easy. though i did find out that the two guy cooks are brothers not lovers, which i still find very hard to believe. but either way, please do take on the transit date for the benefit of all. from recent posts of yours i can tell we’ll be in for a good read.

  2. Orlando has public transit, but much like the whole state of Florida, it just gives a bare minimum of coverage and there’s very little community support to boost public transit. Even Miami’s system, which accounts for half of Florida’s transit ridership and has a rapid transit line (busway, too), is about the same level as San Jose.

  3. I always have terrible trouble with comment-related plugins that require me to put some line in the comment loop; I can never seem to find the right spot. Can anyone tell me where I should put the php line in my comments loop? I haven not modified anything much, and I would be very grateful. Thanks!
